Real Madrid were left with a bitter taste in their mouths after they played out a stalemate against their city rivals, Rayo Vallecano.
The draw had several negative consequences for the La Liga giants. To begin with, it allowed Catalan club Girona to overtake them and claim the top spot in the league standings.
Additionally, it brought their long-standing rivals Barcelona back into title contention with Carlo Ancelotti's team. To make matters even worse, the draw came at a cost, as star midfielder Jude Bellingham suffered a shoulder dislocation during the match, as reported by Madrid Xtra.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who has been directly involved in 16 goals in 14 appearances under Carlo Ancelotti, had a mishap in the 11th minute of the game while attempting to control the ball.
He struggled to stand and had to receive medical attention while clutching his injured shoulder.
Despite Bellingham continuing for the duration of the game, reports from Managing Madrid have stated that the midfielder could miss the La Liga club's crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Sporting Braga.
Upon hearing the news of the marquee midfielder's potential absence in the Braga match, Real Madrid fans wasted no time in expressing their concerns and sentiments about Bellingham's injury on social media.
