Football shirts, not just sportswear - for fans, they represent emotions and memories and a connection to the football club they support.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been the most popular players of the last decade and a half and their jerseys were the most popular in football, but their dominance is coming to an end.

A new star on the block in Spain's top flight has joined two Premier League stars atop a list detailing the most shirt sales in October.

Fans all over the world in every sport show their support for their teams and the players they love by buying their jerseys.

The numbers for October for the most shirt sales in Europe are out and make for interesting reading. Here are the top 10 best-selling jerseys for last month, per Fanatics, via AS.

Top-selling European players in October

10. Vinicius Junior - Real Madrid

The Brazilian is not having a great season so far. He has made 11 appearances and scored three and assisted three goals. The Real Madrid star remains a popular player.

9. Bukayo Saka - Arsenal

It is crazy to imagine that Saka is still only 22. He has bags of experience and is Arsenal's best player. If they challenge for a title this season, the England international will be vital.

8. Alejandro Garnacho - Man United

Amid a difficult 2023/24 season, Garnacho has given Manchester United fans a glimmer of hope. The Argentine is still only 19, and making the top 10 of this list is a testament to his hard work and talent.

7. Kevin De Bruyne - Manchester City

The Belgian is arguably the best playmaker in the world; he played a key role for Man City as they won the treble last season. He hasn't played much this season due to injury, but he remains a top player.

6. Mohamed Salah - Liverpool

The Egyptian is quietly enjoying another great season. His incredible consistency for the Reds has seen him receive critical acclaim. This season, he has 10 goals and four assists in 15 games.

5. Son Heung-Min - Tottenham Hotspur

Son is spearheading a new era at Tottenham. They are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League, and Son has scored eight times for Ange Postecoglou's side. Can he lead Tottenham to their first EPL title?

4. Marcus Rashford - Manchester United

The England international is still a popular player despite underwhelming performances this season at his club. He's scored just one goal this season, which explains Man United's awful season so far.

3. Kylian Mbappe - Paris Saint-Germain

The France captain is arguably the best player in the world. He finished third in the 2023 Ballon d'Or, and at 24, he still has many years to cement his status. He is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this season, and it's only a matter of time before he wins the Ballon d'Or.

2. Erling Haaland - Manchester City

Haaland was the top scorer in Europe last season. He broke many records in the Premier League and is on track to win the Golden Boot again this season. He finished second in the 2023 Ballon d'Or and will soon be battling Mbappe.

1. Jude Bellingham - Real Madrid

Few expected Bellingham to hit the ground running as quickly as he has at Real Madrid. In 14 appearances this season, he has 13 goals and three assists in all competitions. He is the leading scorer in La Liga and bagged a brace in his first El Clasico.

Bellingham claims Kopa Trophy

Sports Brief also previously reported on Real Madrid midfielder, Bellingham claiming the Kopa Trophy at the Ballon d'Or Awards gala event on Monday (October 30).

This prestigious accolade - reserved for the most outstanding footballer under the age of 21 - was presented to the Englishman at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

Bellingham's triumph signifies his status as the best-performing young player, outshining Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and Barcelona's Alejandro Balde to win.
