FootballAncelotti Laments Dropped Points Against Rayo Vallecano: “We Deserved to Win”
- Carlo Ancelotti is disappointed with Real Madrid’s dropped points
- Los Blancos were held to a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday
- Real Madrid dropped to second on the La Liga table with 29 points
Real Madrid’s bid to reclaim the La Liga title from Barcelona this season suffered a setback after the Spanish giants were held to a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, November 5.
Jude Bellingham was unable to come up with the goals for Los Blancos this time around as they fired blanks against a resilient Rayo, a result that dampens Real Madrid’s league chances.
According to Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he was disappointed with the result as he insisted they deserved to win due to how dominant his team played.
"We're disappointed with the result, not with the game. You win games you don't deserve to win, and sometimes you don't win games you do deserve to win. This was a game we deserved to win. We've had other games that we didn't deserve to win."
Real Madrid have now dropped to second on the La Liga table after the draw with 29 points from their opening 12 games this season, two points behind surprise table toppers Girona, who have garnered 31 points.
Ancelotti’s update on Bellingham’s injury
Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti has disclosed that the injury to England midfielder Jude Bellingham is not as serious as first feared as he expects the 20-year-old to make his comeback in midweek, Football Espana reports.
Bellingham, who would be assessed by Real Madrid’s medical team on Monday, picked up a shoulder injury in the game against Rayo Vallecano and was seen with heavy strapping after the game.
Ancelotti insists he has hopes the England star will be available for the Champions League encounter against Sporting Braga on Wednesday, November 8, at Santiago Bernabeu.

FootballReal Madrid drop points against Rayo
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Real Madrid failed to build on their Clasico triumph and dropped two points in La Liga's title race with a 0-0 derby draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Los Blancos spurned several chances as they drove Rayo back at the Santiago Bernabeu but could not find the last-gasp winner they so often manage to produce.
The draw leaves Madrid second, two points behind shock leaders Girona, who came from behind to beat Osasuna, and two ahead of Barcelona after the Catalans' fortunate win over Real Sociedad on Saturday.
