Sergio Aguero has expressed his dissatisfaction with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola's failure to secure the services of Jude Bellingham in the summer.

Aguero indirectly suggested a preference for the English midfielder to join the Citizens alongside Erling Haaland rather than making a move to Real Madrid.

The former Manchester City star, known for his legendary status at the club, implied a sense of disappointment with Bellingham's flourishing performance with Los Blancos following his departure from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Bellingham's red-hot form at Real

The 20-year-old, who received the prestigious recognition as the best player under 21 at the 2023 Ballon d'Or ceremony, has been in exceptional form, notching an impressive tally of 13 goals in 13 matches across various competitions, per Transfermarkt, including a remarkable brace in his debut El Clasico encounter against Barcelona.

The young talent's recent accolades, including winning the La Liga EA Sports Player of the Month award for the second time, have further solidified his status as a promising contender for the prestigious 2024 Ballon d'Or prize.

Aguero unhappy with Pep over Bellingham

While Bellingham's remarkable achievements have captured the attention and excitement of Madridistas and football enthusiasts alike, Aguero, who briefly donned the colours of Madrid's rival club, Barcelona, appears less than impressed.

Aguero appears to believe that Man City could have capitalized on Bellingham's explosive form, potentially creating a formidable partnership with Erling Haaland, had Guardiola made the move to secure the English midfielder for the Citizens.

"It's a shame Pep Guardiola could not convince Jude Bellingham to join Man City with Haaland," the 35-year-old said as cited by Madrid Zone.

Why Bellingham snubbed City's rival Man United

Sports Brief also reported that Rio Ferdinand has stated that Jude Bellingham rejected an opportunity to join Manchester United in 2020 due to a lack of assurance regarding consistent first-team playing time.

The Red Devils reportedly put forth substantial efforts in their attempt to secure the services of the current Real Madrid midfielder three years ago - when he was 16 years old.

The Englishman was said to be of the opinion that the German team would offer him the perfect platform for his career development.
