- Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of Nigeria's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers
- The Leicester City midfielder will miss the games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe
- The Nigerian international is not the only player Jose Peseiro will miss the games
Nigeria have suffered a big blow ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, as they will be without Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
The defensive midfielder has been an important player for the Foxes and the Super Eagles, but he won't be available for both club and country for some days.
The Nigeria national team are preparing for their first two games in the World Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Uyo, and Huya, Zimbabwe.
Former Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca disclosed that the Nigerian midfielder won't be available for Leicester City's Sky Bet Championship tie against Leeds United, according to a report by Soccernet.
"Wilf will be out until the international break," he said.
"It is also a muscular problem, It’s a small thing, but when the problem is muscular, even if it’s small, it’s always one week or two weeks because we don’t want to take any risks."
Ndidi is not the only player being ruled out of Super Eagles upcoming World Cup qualifiers, with Jose Peseiro also worried about the availability of Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi and Semi Ajayi.
The first qualifiers would be against Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Thursday, November 16.
The Super Eagles will travel to Zimbabwe for the second match, on Sunday, November 19.
Ndidi Filmed Worshipping God
Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles midfielder Ndidi was filmed worshipping God with Maverick City's song in his room.
In a trending video shared by Ballersingod on Instagram, the Nigerian midfielder was seen worshipping God with a Maverick City song titled "Firm Foundation (He Won’t)" playing in the background.
Maverick City is an American contemporary gospel music group, and their song Firm Foundation (He Won’t) featured worship leaders Chandler Moore and Cody Carnes, according to iGospelsongs.
