- Erik ten Hag has come under pressure after a string of poor results at Manchester United
- Reports have been rife all week that several candidates have been identified to replace him

Manchester United have no intentions to sack under-fire manager Erik ten Hag despite a poor run of form.
The Red Devils have made their worst start to a league campaign in 61 years, and are out of the Carabao Cup after a 3-0 humbling at home to Newcastle United.
Pressure continues to mount on Ten Hag, who recently exhibited confidence that he could turn the club’s fortunes around.
"I am a fighter," Ten Hag said in the wake of the Newcastle defeat as cited on ESPN.
"I understand it when the results are not there it is also a logical process that they are questioning that. But I am confident I can do it.”
However, reports were rife that the Dutchman was ‘treading thin ice’ and he was on the verge of a sack.
But as reported on Metro.co.uk, United have issued a statement to quell all rumours of a potential dismissal of the three-time Eredivisie winner with Ajax.
‘The report claiming that we are exploring alternatives to Erik ten Hag as the manager is categorically false,’ the statement read.
A separate report from Sky Sports News claims Ten Hag retains the backing of the club’s bosses and board despite recent results.
While the club has a stance on Ten Hag, this has not stopped rumours from spreading on discontent within the Manchester United camp.
Several players are reportedly unhappy with the manager, with some questioning his tactics, particularly during the Manchester derby last weekend, when United lost 3-0.
Ten Hag is currently contracted with Manchester United until June 2025. In his 77 games in charge of the club across all competitions, the former Ajax tactician has won 49 matches.
