Kaizer Chiefs star Sibongiseni Mthethwa has reacted to the comparisons of his style of play to former Leicester City and France midfielder N'golo Kante.
The South African midfielder who is popularly called Ox, has been likened to the former Chelsea player due to his style of play.
The 29-year-old joined the Amakhosi from Stellenbosch with two days remaining in the transfer window, with Steve Barker reluctant to sell him.
In a recent interview with iDiskiTimes, the Bafana Bafana midfielder admitted that he shared some similar pattern with the France international, but claimed he worked on not losing his own style.
"All I can say is, I can see myself as that type of player," he said
“Because the way N’Golo Kante plays, he plays with energy, aggression, everything is there. So I always use those strengths of mine for me to play like him. But the thing is, I always play my style."
Mthethwa was named in Hugo Broos' preliminary Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The former Stellenbosch midfielder's consistently impressive performance could earn him a place in Broos' final shortlist for the qualifiers and also the Africa Cup of Nations tournament next year.
