Manchester United are set to miss the services of Casemiro ahead of their Premier League clash against Fulham,

The Brazilian midfielder was in action for United earlier in the week when the Red Devils suffered a 3-0 humiliation against Newcastle in the Round of 16 of the Carabao Cup.

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall, and Joe Willock condemned Erik ten Hag's charges to a comprehensive defeat at Old Trafford.

However, United lost just more than the match, with Casemiro, who skippered the side during the tie, picking up an injury.

According to the club, the former Real Madrid ace is now a major doubt for the club's Saturday trip to Fulham.

The same was confirmed by ten Hag, who disclosed that the severity of the Brazil international's injury is unknown.

"I can’t give an answer on that," ten Hag replied when questioned on the severity of the issue.

"We have to wait 24 hours, but I think definitely for Saturday, he is out," he added, as quoted by Manchester World.

Injured Man United players

According to the Manchester United official website, Casemiro now adds to a long list of injured Man United stars, with as many as five other key players set to miss the Craven Cottage trip.

The five other players include centre-back Raphael Varane, who did not feature in the matchday squad against the Magpies due to illness.

Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia are all long-term absentees.

Malacia missed all of the pre-season matches with an injury and is yet to return to action for the 2023/24 campaign.

On his part, Shaw sustained a muscle issue in late August, while Martinez was ruled out for an extended period due to an aggravation of the foot injury he suffered in April.

Youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo also remain sidelined.
