Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has admitted he is under pressure following the club's difficult start to the new season.

The Red Devils have been struggling for form, results, and consistency across all competitions, with their latest outing ending in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.

According to Sky Sports, a brace from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden's 80th-minute goal condemned the hosts to a comprehensive defeat.

This was United's fifth league defeat in just 10 outings, with the woeful run of form leaving them sitting eighth in the Premier League standings.

The result sparked anger and outrage from a number of fans, with some calling for the sacking of ten Hag.

Ten Hag admits he is under pressure

Speaking ahead of United's Carabao Cup clash against Newcastle, ten Hag inadvertently admitted that he is under immense pressure to turn around his side's form.

However, he was quick to exude confidence in his push for positive results in the coming weeks.

"At Manchester United, every game involves high stakes. Every single day, there is pressure on everybody involved with this club, but those demands and standards are a challenge which we must always meet head-on," he said, via the BBC.
"While this has not been the start to the season that we had all hoped for, I am certain that we have the talent and attitude as a collective to move in the right direction," he added.

Pep outines Man United's problems

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola brilliantly explained what could be ailing rivals Man United after his side humiliated them on Sunday.

The two Premier League giants locked horns at Old Trafford for their first Manchester derby of the season.

United were looking to secure a positive result in the cracker to build on their momentum after back-to-back victories in the EPL.
