FootballCourt Orders Gyan to Hand Over Assets to Ex Wife As Divorce Case is Finalised
- Ghanaian legend Asamoah Gyan's five-year divorce case has come to an end
- The ex-captain has been ordered to return properties in his ex-wife's name
- Gyan was also ordered to pay GHC25,000 monthly for the children's upkeep
Legendary Ghanaian footballer, Asamoah Gyan has been ordered by the court to pay his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan, a monthly stipend of GHC25,000 after their divorce case was finalised.
The former Black Stars captain is also required to hand over his houses in the United Kingdon and Accra to his ex-partner, while he also has to allow her to take over their gas station business.
According to the court, the GHC25,000 is for the upkeep of their three children.
Gyan had to undergo a DNA test to confirm the three kids were his biological children, as the court proceeding dragged on for the last five years.
He was also ordered to hand over his BMW to Gifty, as reported by Pulse.
The ex-footballer got married over a decade ago, but the relationship started to fall apart after Gyan found out she was allegedly already married, per Yen.
His elder brother, Baffour told Accra-based radio station, Asempa FM that the former Sunderland forward began the process of annulling the marriage following this discovery.
"It's our victory but the stories out there have been [twisted]" he said. "It was five years ago that Asamoah Gyan decided to go to court after finding out she was married to another man before him. So Gyan asked the court to investigate for the marriage to be annulled."
"The verdict came out today and with the issues of the properties, they were gifts that Gyan gave her and the court asked him to return them because they are in her name."
