Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Rulani Mokwena is confident ahead of their semi-final second-leg tie against Egyptian giants Al-Ahly in the African Football League.

The South African side claimed a deserved 1-0 win over the Egyptian side in the first leg at Loftus Stadium on Sunday, October 29.

The Brazilians created many chances in the game but waited until the 52nd minute when Thapelo Maseko found the back of the net.

The win put Sundowns in the driving seat, but they face the tough task of avoiding a defeat when they visit Al-Ahly on Wednesday, November 1.

Ahead of the second leg tie on Wednesday, Mokwena has claimed that the hosts will be concerned about his team's ability to score in Cairo, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.

"But, we have got a goal in Cairo, we know that, and they know that also," he said.
"I think that also stresses them a lot. The message that they have got is they know [Mamelodi] Sundowns can score in Cairo."
"And you could see a little bit of frustration from the players when they walked off the pitch because I would presume that having had something very similar in the previous rounds.
"What Al-Ahly would have to think about is Sundowns must not score an away goal. So let us see what happens."

Mokwena discusses Sirino’s future at Sundowns

Sports Brief earlier reported that Mokwena touched on Gaston Sirino's situation with the club after the player previously asked to leave.

The Uruguayan attacker was a notable absentee for the club this season, and coach Mokwena shed a little more light on the situation.

The 32-year-old has been at the club for six seasons and has won a trophy with the team every season so far.
