Jack Grealish courted controversy on Sunday as he appeared to smack Sofyan Amrabat on the chest during a confrontation.

In a game that was largely one-sided, Manchester City emerged 3-0 winners courtesy of a brace from Erling Haaland and a late goal by Phil Foden.

The stark difference in quality between the two sides was evident even when City were only leading by a single goal, as they consistently attacked the Red Devils, who heavily relied on breaking out on the counter.

Pep Guardiola’s players seem to know exactly what is at stake when they are selected in the starting XI and there can be little room for error.

In fact, one has to have a certain level of confidence, even arrogance, to be ranked by Guardiola - and this is exactly what Grealish exhibited in the first half, albeit via controversial circumstances.

Towards the end of the first half, Amrabat clashed with Phil Foden and the two players squared up to each other.

The two briefly exchanged some words as tempers threatened to boil over. Grealish then approached the scuffle, and cameras caught the 28-year-old shoving the Moroccan in the chest.

An irate Amrabat protested the Englishman's actions to the referee Paul Tierney, who instead brandished a yellow card for the Moroccan and Foden for their part in the scuffle, as cited by the BBC.

With Manchester United trailing, Erik ten Hag decided to take off Amrabat to replace him with Mason Mount in the 46th minute but the Red Devils' situation did not improve.

Doku trolls Antony after derby game

Sports Brief also reported on Jeremy Doku’s hilarious banter aimed at Antony after the pair clashed during the Manchester derby.

Towards the end of the game, tempers flared after Antony tried to bring down Doku, who retaliated once the game was brought to a halt.

After the game, the Manchester City winger took to social media to share a photo of the incident along with an interesting caption.
