Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has brilliantly explained what could be ailing rivals Man United after his side humiliated them on Sunday.

The two Premier League giants locked horns at Old Trafford for their first Manchester derby of the season.

United were looking to secure a positive result in the cracker to build on their momentum after back-to-back victories in the EPL.

However, Erik ten Hag's charges were far from convincing, as they were condemned to a 3-0 comprehensive defeat.

Sky Sports reports that Erling Haaland's brace and Phil Foden's 80th-minute goal was all City needed to see off the Red Devils at the Theatre of Dreams.

Guardiola highlights Man United's problems

The defeat brought United's challenges to the fore once again, with the side yet to hit the ground running this term.

However, Guardiola has come out to hint that the club's challenges lie far deeper than the club’s manager, ten Hag, who a section of quarters want to be sacked.

"I have said many times we go in the same direction, the chairman, the manager, the CEO... first season unconditional support..." Guardiola said via The Mirror.
"It's not easy" to maintain being respectful due to the difference between the sides," he added.

United have struggled for dominance since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013, with a change of managers not doing them any good.

Keane wants Bruno replaced as captain

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United legend Roy Keane has called for the axing of Bruno Fernandes as the club's captain.

Keane's call came moments after United were hammered by rivals Manchester City 3-0 on Sunday, October 29, during their derby meeting.

This was United's fifth Premier League defeat this season in just 10 outings, with their disastrous run of form leaving them sitting eighth in the standings with just 15 points.
