Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has listed four teams that he believes are in a pole position to win the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City are currently the defending champions, having retained the crown last season after a fierce battle with Arsenal.

The Cityzens will be desperate to win the trophy for the fourth consecutive season this term as Pep Guardiola seeks to make history.

The Etihad landlords have already shown a clear intent to successfully defend the title after an impressive start to the season.

However, they are bound to face stiff competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, who currently top the standings with 26 points.

Wenger names EPL favourites

According to Wenger, Spurs are no doubt among the favourites to challenge for the Premier League title after an impressive start to the new season.

The Mirror reports that Spurs beat Crystal Palace 2-1 on Friday night at Selhurst Park to cement their lead on the summit after 10 games.

According to Wenger, he also expected his former side, Arsenal, to be in the title race, alongside Liverpool and City.

The Gunners, just like Spurs, also remain unbeaten in the league after 10 outings.

"Deeply, I believe Tottenham will be one of the contenders for the league," Wenger said on beIN Sports.

"For the Premier League, I would say Arsenal for me, Liverpool, Tottenham, [Manchester] City of course will always come back," he said. "They look like the four... at the moment for the Premier League."
