The Chelsea vs Brentford Premier League clash was marked by an ugly off-the-pitch incident involving Nicolas Jackson and a fan.
The Blues went into the Saturday, October 28, tie off an encouraging 2-2 draw against rivals Arsenal during the London derby last weekend.
However, Mauricio Pochettino's men were unable to build on the momentum when they hosted the Bees at Stamford Bridge.
The Evening Standard reports that two second-half goals from Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo condemned the Blues to a comprehensive defeat.
Pinnock broke the deadlock in the 58th minute before Mbeumo doubled Brentford's advantage at stoppage time.
Jackson clashes with furious fan
Jackson, who has endured a frustrating start to life in the Premier League, was caught in an ugly spat with a Chelsea fan, who made their feelings known for the striker's poor performance.
Sportbible, citing football writer Rahman Osman reports that the fan shouted at Jackson, asking him why he cannot score.
The Senegalese responded with a finger on the lip gesture as if to say quiet, with the situation catching Pochettino's eye.
The Blues' boss quickly jumped into the defence of his striker, with reports claiming he yelled back at the supporter, asking them to rally behind the team.
Chelsea's latest defeat has them languishing in 11th place on the Premier League standings with just 12 points.

At the same time, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea summer signing, Cole Palmer has apologised for throwing a bottle at Mauricio Pochettino during the London derby against rivals Arsenal.

FootballPalmer was among the goalscorers as the two Premier League giants played out a 2-2 draw over the weekend at Stamford Bridge.
"When they scored their second goal I was getting a drink," Palmer explained to Chelsea's club website.
"I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn't look. I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer. I said sorry to him and apologised properly after the game. Hopefully, he won't drop me for that," he added.
