Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier has made his feelings clear on the unending GOAT debate pitting Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The duo has dominated the football scenes for years, with their longevity and achievements with their respective clubs cultivating a debate on who the better player is.
Messi and Ronaldo have won an incredible 12 Ballon d'Or awards between them, with the former carrying home the prestigious award a record seven times.
Be that as it may, opinion among fans, pundits, managers, and even fellow footballers has remained divided on who between the pair is the greatest of all time.
Galtier weighs in on GOAT debate
Recently, Galtier weighed in on the never-ending debate, declaring Ronaldo as the best player in the world.
The Frenchman made the declaration after Ronaldo scored a brace and bagged an assist for Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League against Galtier's Al-Duhail.
“When you face Ronaldo, there isn't much you can do. He scored two beautiful goals. I'm at a loss for words to describe him," Galtier said via Goal.
"What he did is extraordinary for a 38-year-old. He's still the best player in the world,” the 57-year-old added.
According to Sportbible, Messi worked under Galtier during their time together at Parc des Princes.
Guardiola chooses between Messi and Haaland
Sports Brief also reported on Pep Guardiola’s take on who should win the Ballon d’Or between Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland.
While the Man City boss said Haaland deserved it for scoring '50 million goals', he also suggested that the Norwegian stood little chance against seven-time winner Messi thanks to the Argentine’s World Cup feat.
Guardiola does believe Haaland's goal-scoring heroics should put him in line for the award, but there was a caveat.
