New footage has now shown how Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool players reacted after Darwin Nunez produced one of the worst misses in football you will ever see.

Nunez's goal return for Liverpool has been decent since he joined them last season from Benfica, but it is his high-profile misses that have made news even further.

Against Toulouse on October 26, the Uruguayan was on target at Anfield in their third group-stage game in the Europa League. Klopp's charges demolished the French opposition 5-1.

Nunez only got one goal, but it could have been more had he taken his chance in the 64th minute. The 24-year-old beautifully sat the defender on the floor before routing off the goalkeeper but hit the post with an empty net staring right in front of him. Ryan Gravenberch picked up the rebound to score the fourth goal of the night.

How Liverpool players reacted to Nunez's miss

Understandably, Nunez was upset, but the reaction from his Liverpool teammates was wholesome. Captain of the day Trent Alexander-Arnold went to where he was and comforted him as Curtis Jones appeared to ask him what went wrong. The goalscorer, Gravenberch, gave him a warm hug.

A few minutes later, he was withdrawn, getting a similar reaction from his manager and the players who were on the bench.

Speaking after the game, Klopp downplayed the incident, insisting that Nunez offers more upfront.

"He played incredible. Honestly, in this moment, I couldn't care less that he hits the post in that moment because everything before was super-convincing, was absolutely clear," as quoted by ESPN.

The Reds play Nottingham Forrest next, looking to pile more pressure on the early pacesetters.

Graham Potter linked with Man United

In other news, Sports Brief also reported on Graham Potter’s links with Manchester United in the unlikely event Erik ten Hag is dismissed.

Potter has been without a job since April after he was sacked at Stamford Bridge following a string of poor performances.

The 48-year-old is a top candidate for the Old Trafford role should Ten Hag get the sack.
