Orlando Pirates manager Jose Riveiro has disclosed why his team drew against Polokwane City in their DStv Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium on Friday, October 27.
The Buccaneers failed to hold on to their first-half lead as they conceded a goal 18 minutes before the full-time whistle.
Patrick Maswanganyi gave the home side the lead in the 39th minute but failed to score another to seal the victory in front of their fans as Given Mashikinya found the back of the net in the 72nd minute to earn a point for the visitors.
After the game, Riveiro, during an interview with SuperSport, explained why his team couldn't secure all three points against the City of Stars, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.
"A very tough game. We did the most difficult thing to get the lead, and then we didn’t manage well to consolidate the result," he said.
"They found a goal in a lost situation, in a second action, a bit lucky.
"Again one point, we are not satisfied with the point, but it is what it is."
Pirates are still without a win in their last three league games and are 12th on the league table, with Polokwane City now in fourth position.
The Bucs' next league game would be against struggling Cape Town Spurs at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, November 1.
