In recent years, Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, has emerged as one of the most influential football administrators the world has ever witnessed.

From his early days of assuming the presidency by displacing former President Lorenzo Sanz to the pivotal signing of former Barcelona Captain Luis Figo, Perez has consistently demonstrated his unwavering commitment to ensuring Real Madrid's triumph.

This 76-year-old, currently in his second stint as Real Madrid president, is renowned for his audacious footballing decisions. Whether it was acquiring the world's finest football talents, famously dubbed as 'Galacticos' during his initial tenure, or orchestrating the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009, Perez has consistently shown a readiness to go to great lengths for the success of his beloved Real Madrid.

The Real Estate mogul, who is reported to be the chief of the much-maligned European Super League per reports from Marca, is again at the thick of things at the La Liga club, albeit for a beautiful reason as he is set to be honoured by the stakeholders of the club.

Real Madrid stakeholders to honour Perez

Ahead of the club's general assembly which Tribuna reports will hold on November 11, more than 1,000 representatives of the Real Madrid board have suggested that the club should immortalise its president by naming the pitch after him.

While Florentino has previously resisted such recognition, the overwhelming majority of the club's stakeholders now support this gesture.

Notably, some members of the Real Madrid board initially opposed the idea of honouring Perez in this manner, but the majority of board members have cited Article 28 of the Social Statutes, which permits them to bestow such an honour upon the president. To resolve this matter, it has been agreed that a decision by ballot will be made during the general assembly.

Regardless of whether the pitches at Real Madrid City bear Perez's name, there is no denying the indelible impact he has had on the La Liga club and the world of football at large.

Real Madrid deny Perez resignation

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Real Madrid strongly denied that club president Florentino Perez was set to resign from his position at the club following rumours circulating in the Spanish media.

Perez first assumed the Real Madrid presidency in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004, only to withdraw from the position two years later due to concerns about his focus on business.s

The 76-year-old returned to the Spanish giants unopposed in the summer of 2009 and has held that position ever since.
