- Pep Guardiola has downplayed Facundo Pellistri's comments ahead of the Manchester derby

- Guardiola will lead the defending champions at Old Trafford on Sunday, October 29
Pep Guardiola has issued a witty response to Facundo Pellistri as he prepares to face Manchester United this weekend.
Pellistri had earlier taken a brutal swipe at Manchester City, with the Uruguayan winger stating categorically that Manchester was red.
"Sometimes, my girlfriend and I go out to try to find them and we don't see any. Everywhere you go, there are Manchester United jerseys. I'm struck that there aren't as many City jerseys," Pellistri said, as quoted by Sport Bible.
Guardiola responds to Pellistri's comments
Guardiola fired back at the comments during his pre-match press conference on Friday, October 27. The Spanish Head Coach joked that he would reach out to Puma to inquire about the shortage of City's jerseys.
"I will speak with the Puma department and ask, 'What happened? Why we don't have shirts in Manchester?' But it's OK. If this guy and his girlfriend believe that, it's fine," he said, as captured by City Xtra.
Puma are the official shirt sponsor of the defending Premier League champions.
The 21-year-old is expected to be part of Erik ten Hag's squad for the derby. He is, however, unlikely to start, given the recent reintroduction of Antony back into the fold. He has been an unused substitute in Manchester United's last two games.
Where Manchester derby will be won and lost
Sports Brief has also reported on the key battlegrounds of the 191st Manchester derby.
Manchester City will make the short trip to Old Trafford to face their cross-town rivals Manchester United on Sunday, October 29, looking to inflict more trouble and uncertainty on Erik ten Hag's side.
The Red Devils have laboured to slender wins in recent weeks, with the squad playing bereft of the confidence they rode last season to a third-place finish and Carabao Cup triumph.
