Jude Bellingham has allayed the fears of Real Madrid fans, who are sweating on the Englishman’s fitness ahead of the first El Clasico of the 2023/24 season.
The 20-year-old midfielder trained alone from the rest of the squad on Thursday after suffering a knock in Los Blancos’ Champions League victory against Sporting Braga in midweek.
Bellingham came off with a muscle strain in the final minutes against the Portuguese side, sparking rumours that he would not recover in time to feature against Barcelona on Saturday, October 28.
The Englishman has now confirmed he will be present for the first El Clasico of the 2023/24 season, per Football Espana, as he could return to training with the rest of the Real Madrid squad on Friday.
Bellingham has emerged as one of Los Blancos’ best players this season, scoring 11 goals in his first 12 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s men since he joined from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Fabregas hails Bellingham’s mentality
Meanwhile, former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has hailed Bellingham, insisting that he has a very good mentality, Daily Post reports.
Fabregas believes Bellingham is not afraid of anything and reckons the 20-year-old England international will go on to become a key figure for the Spanish club in the future.
Bellingham will make his El Clasico debut this Saturday, October 28, when Real Madrid face Barcelona at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
