Super striker Victor Osimhen has shared his thoughts on how difficult it is to play in the Italian Serie A compared to other leagues in Europe.

The former Wolfsburg star moved to Italy in 2020, when he joined Napoli from French Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille for a club-record fee.

The Nigerian international has since taken the league by storm and led the Partenopei to their first Serie A title after 33 years last season.

The 24-year-old striker has scored 56 Serie A goals in 91 appearances since moving to Italy, with 26 of the goals coming in their title-winning season, according to Transfer Markt.

In a recent interview, as cited by EuroFoot on X (formerly known as Twitter), Osimhen claimed that Serie A is one of the most difficult leagues, and people don't fathom how hard it is to play in the league.

"People don't understand how hard it is to play in Serie A. From a tactical and physical point of view, it is one of the most difficult leagues," he said.

The Napoli striker's comment stirred different reactions from fans, with some agreeing with his claims while some are not on the same page with him.

"I have heard this so many times from Serie A players. But the question is, what makes the league so hard?"

@cfcmelo1 said:

"Especially the area of physicality..A dribbler like Neymar and Hazard can't excel in that league coz they'll send you to the hospital"

@eghoben4real1 said:

"Victor knows the grind, but that's what makes success there so sweet"

Osimhen linked with Liverpool

Sports Brief earlier reported that Osimhen has been linked with Premier League giants Liverpool, as the Reds have reportedly reached an agreement with the Napoli striker.

His contract at the Naples expires in 2025, and there are no indications that he will pen a new deal.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis recently admitted talks over a new contract had stalled.
