According to Metro UK, Partey was not part of Arsenal's squad that faced Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

His conspicuous absence from the tie came just days after he made the bench for the Gunners' London derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Mikel Arteta had initially disclosed that Partey would not be a part of the team to play the Europa League champions due to a muscle injury.

Fans tie Partey's injury to gender reveal party

The injury announcement came as a surprise to many, considering he had been passed fit to play against the Blues.

However, some Arsenal fans are convinced they know exactly when the versatile midfielder suffered the injury.

According to the supporters, the Ghana international may have picked up the injury during the gender reveal party of his unborn child.

Daily Star reports that in the days leading to the Sevilla tie, Partey was caught on camera kicking a miniature football that was filled with red-powdered paint to tell the attendees they are expecting a daughter.

However, he put in a tad too much effort and could be seen in a little discomfort afterwards.
