Arsenal have a slight edge over their early title rivals if their next five Premier League games are anything to go by.

Just like last season, Mikel Arteta and his wads have shown early signs of intent in the title race, as they sit third on the log, two points behind fierce North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

A 2-2 draw against Chelsea over the weekend ensured Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the season is intact, and a look at their next five games strongly suggests that run might continue to the festive season.

According to the Premier League official website, Manchester City bounced back from two straight league defeats to beat Brighton 2-1 on Saturday, and they lie in second place, above Arsenal only on goal difference.

As mentioned earlier, Spurs’ 2-0 win over Fulham in a London derby on Monday ensured they went back to the summit, two points ahead of City and Arsenal, as per BBC.

Fourth place is occupied by Liverpool, who triumphed in the Merseyside derby 2-0 on Saturday to move to 20 points.

Gunners have the easiest run in on paper

Arsenal’s next five games are the easiest on paper, as the Gunners will not come up against any of their traditional ‘Big Six’ rivals during that run.

Mikel Arteta’s side faces bottom side Sheffield United on October 28 at home, before travelling to Saint James’ Park to face a high-flying Newcastle United on November 4.

A home game against Burnley on November 11 will then ensue, and after the international break, Arsenal will travel to Brentford for a London derby on November 25.

Their fifth fixture in this run-in will be against Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on December 2.

For the rest of Arsenal’s three early title rivals, their run of fixtures is not as straight forward.
