Bayern Munich made a trip to Istanbul to face Galatasaray, who had remained unbeaten in all 18 matches of the season thus far.

Thomas Tuchel's team, who are gaining momentum as the season progresses rapidly, faced the formidable challenge of securing victory in front of the boisterous home supporters at the Rams Global Stadium.

The game sprang to life in the eighth minute of the first half when Kingsley Coman unexpectedly scored a goal against the run of play.

The Bavarian side, struggling to cope with the intensity posed by Okan Buruk's team, would later concede a penalty due to a rash challenge from their captain for the night, Joshua Kimmich. According to a TNT Sport report, striker Mauro Icardi levelled the score with a clever finish from the penalty spot.

The Bavarians would eventually grow into the game in the second half, and striker Harry Kane made their possession count as he found the back of the net from a pass from Jamal Musiala.

Bayern eventually made sure their points on the night were safe as Kane this time turned provider for Musiala, who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

This victory marked a significant achievement for Bayern, as they set a new UEFA Champions League record.

Bayern set new UCL record

As reported by @iMaiSanMai, Bayern became the first team in Champions League history to win eight away group stage games in a row.

Furthermore, the win extended the Bundesliga giants' unbeaten streak in the competition's group stage to 37 consecutive games.

The result moves the German club onto nine points, five clear at the top of the group. Tuchel's side will now shift their focus to their upcoming weekend fixture against struggling league side SV Darmstadt.

Icardi scores cheeky penalty against Bayern

In a previous report, Sports Brief stated that striker Mauro Icardi scored a cheeky panenka penalty against Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League group stage clash.

Icardi put the penalty miss against Manchester United at the back of his mind. The Galatasaray attacker made up for that horrible miss on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League, as he slotted home a beautiful penalty against Bayern Munich in the UCL to draw the Turkish side level.
