Man Utd pay homage to legend Charlton

Manchester United remembered one of their greatest ever players with tributes paid to Bobby Charlton ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen.

Charlton, who scored 249 goals in 758 games for the Red Devils, died at the age of 86 on Saturday.

Accompanied by the sound of a lone bagpiper, United boss Erik ten Hag carried a wreath into the centre-circle before kick-off alongside Charlton's former teammate Alex Stepney and the club's youth team captain Dan Gore.

A minute's silence was then observed at a packed out Old Trafford.

United badly need to win against the Danish champions on an emotional night to keep their hopes of reaching the last 16 alive.

Ten Hag's men have lost their opening two Champions League group games for the first time in the club's history.

United have also lost four of first nine Premier League matches of the season.
