Mauro Icardi has put that penalty miss against Manchester United to the back of his mind.

The Galatasaray attacker made up for that horrible miss on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League, as he slotted home a beautiful penalty against Bayern Munich in the UCL to draw the Turkish side level.

Galatasaray went behind after eight minutes thanks to a Kingsley Coman goal but continued to push forward in search of an equaliser.

They were rewarded in the 30th minute of the game when Icardi was brought down in the box after he was sandwiched by two Munich players. The Argentine brushed himself off, placed the ball on the spot, and then cheekily scored a Panenka.

Icardi could have had 3 or more

Icardi was central to all of the attacks by the Turkish club in the first half and should have scored more goals.

He wasted three headers from beautifully worked corners, and then missed a chance to put his side ahead just before the half-time break.

Thankfully, his misses were not costly, as Munich failed to capitalise on their own chances. Icardi wasn't short of confidence in the second half either, as he tried to score with a cheeky back heel as well.

The Turkish giants came up against struggling Istanbulspor on September 26 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, in a game in which the visitors were heavy favourites, Sports Brief reported.

Galatasaray were handed a chance to get one over their opponents from the penalty spot, but Icardi messed up the well-worked routine and fired wide.
