  • Brazil's Roberto Firmino has hit a dry patch in front of goal for his new side Al-Ahli
  • Supporters of the Saudi Arabian club have reportedly grown frustrated with Firmino
  • Firmino scored a hat-trick in his first game for the side but has failed to score since

The honeymoon phase is over for Roberto Firmino in Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian attacker signed for Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League after leaving Liverpool and was warmly welcomed by fans when he first arrived.

Sadly, Al-Ahli supporters have seemingly turned on the former Liverpool star, voicing disappointment in his performances of late.

As noted by The Mirror, some fans are calling for the player to be let go in January.

Fans are upset with the Brazilian’s form in front of goal, especially after his brilliant start for the side. Firmino scored a hat-trick in his first game but has failed to score since.

Al-Ahli also won the first four games of the season but now sit fourth after only winning three of their last six games.

Firmino still valuable for Al-Ahli

While Bobby hasn’t been banging in the goals, he remains a valuable member of the Al-Ahli squad and is the club captain.

He also notched up an assist in his last game, as he set up Riyad Mahrez during the side’s 3-1 win.

Firmino’s time at Liverpool

While fans in Saudi Arabia may grow frustrated with Firmino’s lack of goals, looking at his time at Liverpool should prove that he offers more than just goals.

As noted by Transfermarkt, Bobby scored 111 goals for the English Premier League side in 326 games.

While he wasn’t going to score as many as Mohamed Salah, Firmino built a reputation for being a crafty player who could link plays and create chances for his fellow forwards.

Firmino impresses on pre-season debut

Roberto Firmino couldn't ask for a better debut for his new team Al-Ahli.

The Saudi Pro League side demolished Austrian second-tier side USV Stuhlfelden 18-0 in a pre-season friendly.

The former Liverpool star bagged two goals in the encounter, Sports Brief reported.
