  • Ramsdale was between the sticks at the start of the season before Raya ousted him

Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with a sensational move to Premier League rivals, Chelsea.

The England international has been impressive for the Gunners since he joined them in the summer of 2021 from Sheffield United.

Ramsdale has since been a mainstay figure in Mikel Arteta's squad and was the club's first-choice goalkeeper last season when the north London side sealed a second-place finish in the league.

However, the shot-stopper has struggled for game time this season following the arrival of David Raya.

Raya linked up with the Gunners on loan from Brentford, per Sky Sports, and Arteta has often shown a clear preference for him ahead of Ramsdale.

Ramsdale linked with Chelsea move

Metro UK now reports that Chelsea are interested in snapping up Ramsdale from Arsenal after he lost his spot to Raya.

According to the publication, which cited Ben Jacobs, the Blues are keen to take advantage of the situation and sign the Englishman.

The West Londoners are looking to solve their own problems in the goalkeeping department, with Robert Sanchez, who joined them from Brighton, failing to impress.

Sanchez was at fault during last weekend's London derby at Stamford Bridge.

The tie ended in a 2-2 draw, with Arsenal coming from two goals down to secure a vital point away from home.

Arteta responds to Ramsdale chants

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mikel Arteta has responded to Arsenal fans who were overheard chanting Aaron Ramsdale's name during their Premier League clash against rivals Chelsea.

Rasmdale was not part of his side's starting XI during the Gunners' trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with summer arrival David Raya starting ahead of him.

However, Raya, who was making his fifth consecutive Premier League game, had an evening to forget in west London, as his goalkeeping errors nearly cost Arsenal the match.
