FootballMykhailo Mudryk Lifts Lid on How He Beat David Raya During Chelsea vs Arsenal Clash
- Mykhailo Mudryk scored his first goal at Stamford Bridge over the weekend against Arsenal
- There has, however, been a debate on whether or not he meant to chip David Raya
- The Ukrainian has now explained what was going through his mind before the goal
Mykhailo Mudryk has now opened up on whether or not he meant to score the way he did against Arsenal.
The Chelsea winger continued with his new-found form in front of goal, scoring a breathtaking goal against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge on October 21.
The Ukrainian, who has found the going tough since making the big-money move switch to West London in January, scored his first goal for the Blues at the start of the month before following it up with a first for his country during the international break.
Against Arsenal, the 22-year-old found the back of the net against a side he rejected before moving to Chelsea. Three minutes after the break, with Chelsea holding a slender 1-0 lead, the ball found its way to the former Shakhtar Donetsk man.
Mudryk's goal vs. Arsenal
With Chelsea players purring forward, Mudryk momentarily gazed up to assess his options before unleashing what appeared to be a cross. The ball, however, hit the back of David Raya's net, gifting the winger his second Chelsea goal and the second of the night.
There have been claims that the goal was a fluke, but he has now come out to rebuff those claims. Mudryk revealed that Chelsea's goalkeeper coach, Toni Jimenez, let him in on one of Raya's tactics.
"It was something in the middle, between a cross and a shot. Before the game, our goalkeeper coach told me to look at their keeper because sometimes he is trying to read things and he can just lose the goal, so I can chip him," he explained to the club's website.
Mudryk also brought about the first-half penalty, which Cole Palmer converted after his header struck William Saliba's hand.

FootballSterling and Palmer argue over penalty
Sports Brief reported on Sterling and Palmer arguing over who would take the contentious penalty given to the Blues in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal.
The two former Manchester City stars were dragging the ball before Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez waded in and passed the ball to the 21-year-old, who scored, and the whole team brushed it aside and celebrated the goal.
