Remember the name Marc Guiu.
The 17-year-old is the latest Barcelona youngster to make an impact on the big stage.
Guiu, who made his first senior debut for the club against Athletic Bilbao, also scored his first senior goal.
Named on the bench as a replacement for the injured Robert Lewandowski, Guiu was given a chance a run out with 10 minutes to go, as Barca and Athletic were tied at 0-0.
It didn’t take long for the youngster to make an impact as he latched on to a pass from Joao Felix, took one pass to set himself up, and then finished past Unai Simon with his second touch.
Lewandowski, who was watching from the stands, couldn’t help but applaud the performance of the youngster as he broke the deadlock.
Barca would hold onto the lead and record a 1-0 win over Ernesto Valverde’s men, moving them to within a point of Real Madrid and Girona at the top of the LA Liga standings.
Speaking after the game, Guiu couldn't believe that he not only scored on his debut but also made history in the process. As noted by Goal, he became the youngest player to score on debut for the club in the 21st century. Guiu was only 17 years and 291 days old when he scored.
"I can't believe it, I'm out of breath. I'm enjoying the moment. I've been working my whole life for this opportunity and it turned out perfect," he said after the game.
