FootballGary Neville Pinpoints 3 Key Areas Chelsea Need to Address After Draw With Arsenal
- Chelsea surrendered a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 against Arsenal
- Cole Palmer and Mudryk gave the Blues the lead before Rice and Trossard scored for the Gunners
- The result extended Arsenal's unbeaten run to nine games in the Premier League
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has pinpointed three key areas that Chelsea need to address following their draw against Arsenal on Saturday.
The two London teams settled for a 2-2 epic draw when they locked horns in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
Metro UK reports that the Gunners came from two goals down to salvage a precious point, which extended their unbeaten run to nine games in the EPL.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring for the hosts from the penalty spot in the 15th minute before Mykhailo Mudryk doubled the advantage shortly after the break.
However, Chelsea were unable to protect their lead, allowing the visitors to stage a thrilling comeback through Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard to secure a point.
Areas Chelsea need to address
Neville has now pinpointed three key areas that he feels Chelsea need to address in the wake of their draw in the London derby.
According to the former defender, the Mauricio Pochettino-tutored side need to sort out the striking and goalkeeping departments, as well as find a replacement for Thiago Silva, who is aged 39.
"Chelsea have shown a blueprint of what the future could look like," Neville said on his podcast.
"They’ve still got a problem up front, they haven’t got a striker, and I still think they’ve got a problem with Thiago Silva’s age.
"He’s so important for them, but he is 39. And then the goalkeeper… Can he step up to be a good goalkeeper?" he continued.
Mudryk scores screamer against Arsenal
Sports Brief reported on Mykhailo Mudryk's screamer against Arsenal. He saw goalkeeper David Raya off his lines and unleashed an unstoppable left-footed strike.
If Arsenal had not gotten a point from the encounter, the goal would have hurt their fans the most, as he was a player their club spent months chasing before their rivals swooped for him.
