FootballReal Madrid TV Unhappy With ‘Questionable’ Refereeing Decisions in La Liga Game Against Sevilla
- Real Madrid had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Sevilla but feel as if they were robbed by the referee
- Real Madrid TV highlighted some of the mistakes made by the referee during the game against Sevilla
- Carlo Ancelotti avoided speaking his mind about the decisions for fear of being banned for his comments
Real Madrid are not happy with the performance of refereeing in their game against Sevilla.
Los Blanco drew 1-1 with Sevilla but felt as if they should have won the game had it not been for referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea.
Madrid had two goals ruled out within the first 10 minutes of the game and had to rely on a Dani Carvajal goal to get them a point after a David Alaba own-goal gave Sevilla the lead.
As noted by Football Espana, Real Madrid TV slammed De Burgos for his performance, saying he deserved a man of the match award for his performance.
“It’s a sociological scandal what happened today with De Burgos Bengoetxea. The MVP of the match goes to De Burgos Bengoetxea. He has done his job perfectly,” RMTV stated.
The show believed that Federico Valverde’s 4th-minute goal should have stood and was incorrectly ruled out by VAR.
RMTV were also furious with the decision to disallow Jude Bellingham’s goal minutes later. The talented midfielder’s goal was disallowed for a foul during the build-up.
Carlo Ancelotti also annoyed
RMTV were not the only ones left questioning some of the decisions made by the referee and his team.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti addressed it during the press conference, opting to use irony to convey his disgust instead of saying what he really meant, AS reported.
“Irony is the only way to explain myself after that game. If I say what I think about refereeing I’ll be banned for a long time,” he said.
