According to The Mirror, Cole Palmer opened the scoring for the hosts from the penalty spot in the 15th minute before the Ukrainian doubled Chelsea's advantage shortly after the break with a thunderous strike.

The home side appeared on course to secure a comfortable win before Arsenal staged an epic comeback through Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard to secure a point.

Mudryk's wonder goal became a major talking point, with David Raya at fault for standing out of position as the Chelsea ace swung into action.

There was a bit of debate if the former Shakhtar Donetsk star really intended to fire towards the goal or if he got lucky with a miscued cross.

Arteta comments on Mudryk's goal

So intense the debate was that it was said that Chelsea goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez had instructed the winger to keep an eye on the Arsenal No.1 coming off his line.

But when it was put to Arteta that Mudryk had chipped Raya on purpose, the Arsenal boss was seemingly shocked and said:

"They said it was intentional?"
"It didn’t seem to me. They see much better. If it’s on purpose, credit to them," he added via Metro UK.

Sterling and Palmer argue over penalty

Sports Brief reported on Sterling and Palmer arguing over who would take the contentious penalty given to the Blues in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

The two former Manchester City stars were dragging the ball before Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez waded in and passed the ball to the 21-year-old, who scored, and the whole team brushed it aside and celebrated the goal.
