- Mikel Arteta has shown his clear preference for David Raya over, Aaron Ramsdale
- Raya was between the sticks during Arsenal's trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday
- The Spaniard was largely at fault for Chelsea's second goal, scored by Mykhailo Mudryk
Mikel Arteta has responded to Arsenal fans who were overheard chanting Aaron Ramsdale's name during their Premier League clash against rivals Chelsea.
Rasmdale was not part of his side's starting XI during the Gunners' trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with summer arrival David Raya starting ahead of him.
However, Raya, who was making his fifth consecutive Premier League game, had an evening to forget in west London, as his goalkeeping errors nearly cost Arsenal the match.
The Mirror reports that Chelsea appeared to be in the driving seat when they took a 2-0 comfortable lead via Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk, only for the visitors to spring a comeback to draw 2-2.
Raya became a major talking point during and after the London derby, with the Spaniard badly at fault for the goal, which put Chelsea 2-0 ahead shortly after the break.
His blunder saw the away fans express their displeasure by chanting Ramsdale's name.
Arteta responds to Ramsdale chants
But speaking after the match, Aretta maintained that he was pleased to hear the fans chanting Ramsdale’s name in response to another jittery performance from Raya.
"Great. I love him, over. We sang a lot for him yesterday because he was a father which is the most beautiful thing to do," Arteta said via Metro UK.
"I’m so happy he has this charisma and personality and is someone who is very loved around the team," he added.
Meanwhile, Arsenal's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge extended their unbeaten Premier League run to nine games.

Elsewhere, Sports Brief also reported on an interesting incident during the Chelsea-Arsenal game where Raheem Sterling almost took the penalty away from Cole Palmer.
Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez stepped in and handed the ball over to Palmer, who calmly dispatched it, sending David Raya the wrong way.
