Arsenal vs Manchester City: When Kevin De Bruyne shoved Mikel Arteta ahead of Emirates showdown
FootballArsenal Injury News: Arteta Refuses to Disclose Whether Bukayo Saka Is Available for Chelsea Clash
- Arsenal face Chelsea in a tricky Premier League fixture on Saturday, October 21
- The Gunners could have their star winger Bukayo Saka back in time for the game
- Saka is out with a hamstring issue that ruled him out of the Manchester City game before the international break
Mikel Arteta was extremely subtle when asked about the availability of Bukayo Saka ahead of Arsenal’s short trip to West London on Saturday, October 21.
The Gunners, who are level on points with Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table, face Chelsea in what promises to be a pulsating North-London derby.
One of the biggest questions as far as Arsenal’s squad is concerned is whether Saka will be fit enough to play in the London derby.
The England international is struggling with a hamstring issue, which he sustained during the Gunners’ Champions League game against RC Lens.
During his press conference on Friday, October 20, Arteta was asked whether Saka would like to feature against Chelsea.
"I'm sure he wants to play yes,” the gaffer said as cited on Football London.
The Spaniard however remained coy on whether Saka, who has featured the most since he took charge of Arsenal, would play against Chelsea.
Arteta added: "He's been working so hard to be fit for this game. So let's see where he's at today."
Other Arsenal injury news
Besides Saka, Arsenal have been dealt fresh injury concerns as the duo of William Saliba and Leandro Trossard pulled out of their international call ups with suspected injuries.
As per Standard.co.uk, Saliba is struggling with a toe injury, which the French media has termed as “chronic”. Trossard, meanwhile, pulled out of Belgium’s Euro 2024 qualifiers and is believed to be nursing a hamstring issue.

FootballSports Brief also reported on Mikel Arteta’s interesting take on Arsenal’s title charge last season.
The Gunners were at the top of the league table for most of last season, maintaining a gap of around eight points over second-placed Manchester City, but could not go all the way.
Arteta's team capitulated in week 36 after losing to Nottingham Forest, with City beating Chelsea the following day to win their third consecutive title and Pep Guardiola's fifth.
