- Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in July, bringing a curtain to his time in Europe
- He has been reunited with former teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba
- Miami are keen to add another former Barcelona star, Luis Suarez, to the fold
Lionel Messi could be reunited with former Barcelona teammate and friend Luis Suarez if all goes according to plan for next year's MLS season.
Messi brought the curtain down on his European career when he signed for Inter Miami on July 1 before making his long-anticipated debut against Cruz Azul on July 21.
Per Goal, the Argentine has been reunited with his former Barca teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. The trio have helped the club win its first-ever trophy.
Martino confirms Suarez plans
Miami previously attempted to add Luis Suarez to the group after the arrival of his former teammates but were unsuccessful, with Gremio unwilling to release him.
The Brazilian club's head coach has confirmed he will leave the club in December, and speaking ahead of the Herons' 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC, as quoted by ESPN, Martino confirmed the MLS side will revisit the transfer.
"Within our analysis of the upcoming season and the needs we may have, we have an analysis with Luis and an analysis without Luis. When the moment arrives to make Suárez's situation with respect to Inter Miami official, we'll be prepared to go in the corresponding direction," he said.
If successful, it would be the second time the Argentine manager will work with the four players, having also coached them in the 2013/14 season in charge at Barcelona.
