The track off the album '1er Gaou' was released in 1999. It was a major hit in their native country, Ivory Coast, and other African countries that same year.
It became a global hit three years later when the group did a remix of the song in 2002.
The Ivorian group was led by Salif 'A'Salfo' Traore, who was the brain behind the song, as it was based on his autobiographical experiences.

In a viral video on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Mane was seen with popular music icon Akon, and former Chelsea players Drogba and Mikel dancing as A'Salfo performed the Magic Systems' hit song.
The former Liverpool star was part of the draw assistants alongside Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi and the two Chelsea legends, according to a report by Vanguard.
The draw for the 2023 tournament was successfully conducted, with the 24 qualified nations finding out their opponents at the group stage.
Sports Brief earlier reported that Mane joined Akon in performing a popular Senegalese dance on the stage for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw in Abidjan.
Akon, a Senegalese-American singer, was the host of the draw at the Parc Des Expositions in Abidjan on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
In a video shared on social media, Akon invited the player on stage, and while he took his position behind his pot, the duo spoke in Senegalese slang before briefly dancing together.
