FootballJadon Sancho: Embattled Star Omitted From Manchester United Team Photo Amid ten Hag Row
- Jadon Sancho was absent from Manchester United's squad photo for this season
- Sancho fell out with Erik ten Hag last month due to his training form and selection issues
- Senior United players have reportedly asked the winger to apologise to the manager and get on with it
Jadon Sancho's issues with Erik ten Hag took another turn after he was omitted from Manchester United's team photo for the 2023/2024 season.
Sancho has been exiled from the first team since he fell out with ten Hag on why he was excluded from the squad that faced Arsenal on September 3.
After the 3-1 defeat at the Emirates, ten Hag revealed that the England international was fit for selection but had not shown the expected standards in training. Sancho, in a post on X that has since been taken down, vilified the manager for wrongful accusations, insisting that he will not allow to be scapegoated.
The former Borussia Dortmund was then asked to apologise to the Dutch tactician which he reportedly declined to do so. He has since been training with the U18s.
As MEN now reports, the simmering tensions between player and manager appear to have no end in sight after he was conspicuously missing from the Manchester United class of 2023/2024.
The squad assembled for a season photo at their training complex in Carrington alongside the key managerial staff.
Sancho asked to apologise by teammates
The Guardian adds that some senior members of the United squad have asked Sancho to apologise to ten Hag or risk getting sold in January.
The report adds that Manchester United's administrative hierarchy has also relayed the same message to the 23-year-old.
