Guinean forward, Serhou Guirassy has been voted the Player of the Month for September in the Bundesliga.

The VfB Stuttgart forward beat competition from Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, Nigeria's Victor Boniface and his Bayer Leverkusen teammate Alejandro Grimaldo, as well as Chris Fuhrich to win the award.

Guirassy is enjoying a blistering start to life in the Bundesliga, having scored 13 goals in seven matches since joining the club from Stade Rennais in the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old netted seven goals and provided an assist in the month of September to claim the award from Boniface, who won it in August, as reported by the Bundesliga's official website.

The lanky forward will be returning to Germany this week after the international break. Guirassy was on target for Guinea during their international friendly against Gabon.

He played a key role as the West African nation qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Guinea have been drawn in Group C alongside holders Senegal, five-time champions Cameroon, and Gambia.

Guirassy was born in France and represented the youth teams of the European country before switching nationality to the African country in 2022, as reported by Transfermarkt.

Guirassy sends Stuttgart to Bundesliga summit

Sports Brief also reported on Guirassy scoring two Bundesliga goals to tie a record and propel Stuttgart to the top of the table.

The home side fell behind after 18 minutes when defender, Dan-Axel Zagadou turned a low cross inside his own near post.

Enzo Millot replied five minutes later, side footing home from a Guirassy lay-off to spark a 3-1 comeback win over Darmstadt.

Guirassy courts attention in Europe

Sports Brief also reported on Guirassy raising eyebrows in Europe after his outstanding start to the season in the Bundesliga.

The Guinea international has already scored 13 goals in just seven league games, propelling Stuttgart to the top of the table.

The French-born forward scored twice to inspire his side, Stuttgart to a comeback win against SV Darmstadt on Friday night.
