According to The Mirror, the Fiorentina midfielder, who is on loan at Old Trafford, was left out of the Morocco squad for their 1-1 draw with Ivory Coast last weekend.

However, he did not recover in time to play against, which the Atlas Lions beat 3-0 thanks.

Will Amrabat feature against Sheffield United?

The 27-year-old is understood to have returned to Man United, with Al Ayam reporting he is battling an unspecified injury.

It remains unclear if the Moroccan will be fit for the Red Devils' next Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

Amrabat has struggled with injuries since his Old Trafford switch, having missed last month's international break with a back problem.

The midfielder joined the Red Devils on loan from Fiorentina on deadline day, with the Premier League giants paying £ 8 million to acquire his services for the remainder of the campaign.

However, they have an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season for £21m.

He has already made five appearances since his switch, with most of those coming as a fullback.

Man United to offload Sancho

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Manchester United resolving to offload Jadon Sancho ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

Sancho has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford following his row with United boss Erik ten Hag.

The winger fell out with his manager after he publicly criticised him when he was dropped from the squad that faced Arsenal in September.

United went on to lose 3-1 at the Emirates.
