- The Nigerian shot-stopper's performance stirred a lot of reactions on social media after the game
Super Falcons star Chiamaka Nnadozie has led her club, Paris FC, to the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League after knocking out last year's finalist, Wolfsburg, in the second round of qualifying on Wednesday, October 18.
Wolfsburg were favourites to progress to the group stage after their 3-3 draw in the first leg of the tie, but the French side sealed a 2-0 away win to progress to the next round.
Goals from Julie Dufour and Louise Fleury gave the visitors the deserved win over the two-time Women's Champions League winners.
One of the major highlights of the game was Nnadozie's penalty save in the 61st minute, which could have boosted the morale of the German side.
The 22-year-old shots-stopper denied Dominique Janssen from the spot as the French side held on to the win.
The Super Falcons goalkeeper also saved two penalties in the preliminary stage against English side Arsenal.
Paris FC are having a good campaign this season, as they presently sit second in the French top flight behind Olympique Lyon, according to BBC.
Nnadozie is known for saving penalties for club and country, as she did the same during the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
She saved Christine Sinclair’s penalty in the Super Falcons' first game of the tournament against Canada.
When Chloe Kelly comforted Chiamaka Nnadozie
Sports Brief earlier reported on how Chloe Kelly earned plaudits online for her reaction after scoring the winning penalty for the Lionesses against Nigeria on Monday, August 7.
Despite the thrill of advancing to the next round after such a gruelling game, Kelly instead rushed to comfort Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who was visibly distraught after her country's dramatic exit from the Women's World Cup.
The Lionesses star was also seen discouraging camera crews who were determined to capture Nnadozie at her most vulnerable moment.
