- In the face of these critiques, Mbappé took to social media to defend his behaviour
Kylian Mbappé made a strong comeback for Paris Saint-Germain this weekend, netting two goals to guide his team to a 3-2 triumph against Brest in Ligue 1.
Despite ongoing discussions about his future and rumoured connections to Real Madrid, the forward has remained remarkably impressive at the beginning of the season, tallying 10 goals in just nine appearances.
While PSG may not have enjoyed the strongest of starts this season, Mbappé has undoubtedly shone, and this was clearly evident in the match against Brest.
The Frenchman not only doubled his team's lead in the first half but also sealed the victory in the 88th minute, preventing Brest from making a comeback after they had managed to level the score from a 2-0 deficit.
Mbappe's behaviour criticised by French journalist
Following his winning goal, Mbappé was substituted shortly afterward, and the Brest fans greeted him with boos and jeers.
Without hesitation, the 25-year-old responded by making hand gestures towards the crowd, reminding them of the score. As he exited the field, he pointed to the PSG badge on his jersey.
French journalist Bertran Latour was unimpressed, promptly turning to social media following the incident and voiced his criticism of Mbappé's behavior, asserting that it did not befit the captain of the France national team.
Speaking on X (formerly known as Twitter), he said: "A captain of the French team should not do that." It's safe to say, it didn't take long for the PSG superstar to reply, and he wasn't happy.
Mbappe hit back against the criticism
Mbappé, displeased with the criticism, swiftly replied Latour on social media.

Speaking on X, Mbappe said: "Well of course and I should have even sang with them when they insulted my teammate. Some have really never set foot on a football field regardless of the level…"
Mbappe breaks Henry’s record
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Thierry Henry is regarded as one of the best strikers ever to play the game, but Mbappe is already shattering his fellow Frenchman’s records in the UEFA Champions League.
The 24-year-old forward bettered Henry’s impressive 11-year-old record as PSG defeated AC Milan 3-0 to revive their ambitions in Europe’s elite club competition.
Mbappe opened the scoring for PSG against Milan in the 32nd minute, with further goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in propelling the Parisians to the top of Group F.
