  • Victor Osimhen has been told that he does not own Italian club Napoli
  • Former Juventus director, Luciano Moggi is displeased with the indiscipline within the Partenopei
  • The football administrator has added that Napoli players are behind their new manager

A former director, Luciano Moggi, has stated that Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen should note that he does not own Napoli Football Club.

Moggi made this statement while sharing his thoughts on new Napoli manager Rudi Garcia, saying that the tactician has tried to change things at the club too much too soon.

In June, the Partenopei confirmed the departure of Luciano Spalletti, who guided the team to the Italian Serie A title for the first time in more than three decades.

The club then announced Rudi Garcia as a replacement, and the French manager is already ringing changes at the club.

Speaking on the internal situation at the club, ex-Juve boss Moggi stated that the Napoli board must make it clear that the players are behind the manager.

Recall that Osimhen visibly expressed his frustrations when he was substituted during Napoli's draw with Bologna.

The former Lille of France striker later apologised, and the club decided not to fine him, but Moggi insisted that there must be discipline in the team.

He told Radio Crc, as per Tribal Football:

"At the moment it's true there is a distance compared to last year, but it's there because the change of coach was too traumatic. With Garcia the coach changes, the preparation changes, everything changes.
"The club must make it clear that it is on the coach's side by educating the players.
"Player education is taught with a fine even if it is (Victor) Osimhen who makes that gesture. Napoli are strong and the season has just started so we need to put things back in their place. Osimhen is not the owner of Napoli, he must understand that he must give his best."

Osimhen confirmed injured

Sports Brief earlier reported that Napoli confirmed that Osimhen suffered a medium-grade lesion of the biceps femoris and could be out for some weeks.

The striker was forced out in the 56th minute during Nigeria’s friendly match with Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 13.

Consequently, he was left out of the squad that played the game against Mozambique as he returned to Naples for further examination.
