Al-Nassr winger Sadio Mane has reacted after scoring the only goal in Senegal's win over Cameroon in an international friendly game at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Monday, October 16.

The former Liverpool forward scored from the penalty spot in the first half as the Teranga Lions got one over the Indomitable Lions.

The five-times Africa Cup of Nations champions struggled to get past Senegal's three-defence setup of Khalidou Koulibaly, Cheikhou Kouyate and Moussa Niakhate.

Both teams were drawn in the same group for the 2023 AFCON tournament hosted by Ivory Coast, alongside Gambia and Guinea.

Senegal will go all out in defending their title in Ivory Coast but will face a tough test from Cameroon in the group stage.

Mane was interviewed after the game and confirmed that they deserved the victory over Rigobert Song's side.

"It's a deserved victory, we played well, and we had a lot of chances," he said.

The win gives Aliou Cisse's side the morale boost for their next game, which is the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Sudan on November 13 in Dakar.

The Teranga Lions will also face Togo on November 20, which will be their last official game before the 2023 AFCON begins, according to Soccerway.
