He could be out for some matches, with Sky Sport claiming such an injury could take around four to six weeks to heal.

Jose Peseiro risks missing out on the impressive striker as they take on the Crocodiles of Lesotho in their opening fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Four days later, the Eagles will play away to Zimbabwe on Match Day 2.

Okocha faults Osimhen for ignoring Saudi move

Meanwhile, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has explained why Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen should have accepted the mega offer from the Saudi Pro League in the summer.

The Napoli striker was offered a huge sum of money to move to the Middle Eastern Nation in the last summer transfer window but turned it down to stay in Italy.

Okocha admitted that Osimhen was within his rights to make the decision, but claimed he should have accepted it because of the huge amount of money attached to the deal.

Mikel predicts PL success for Osimhen

Sports Brief earlier reported that Mikel Obi has stated that Victor Osimhen will score plenty of goals if he moves to the English Premier League.

The former Chelsea midfielder says he hopes that the 24-year-old moves to the Stamford Bridge club despite interest from Manchester United.

Osimhen has been the subject of the transfer rumours as the Napoli striker is yet to renew his deal with the Italian outfit.
