Ronaldo's early penalty and a splendid chip over the Bosnian goalkeeper were instrumental in setting the pace for Roberto Martinez's side, per MARCA.
According to Eurosport, the match saw further goals from Bruno Fernandes, as well as Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix of Barcelona, leading to an impressive halftime lead of five-nil for the 2016 European champions.
Coach Martinez wisely chose to rest Ronaldo, substituting the Al-Nassr star just after the hour mark.
