Kaizer Chiefs manager Molefi Ntseki has explained how the Amakhosi can overcome their eight-year run without winning a title.
The Amakhosi missed out on winning the MTN8 this season, with Orlando Pirates continuing their dominance in the competition.
The South African league title is also looking like an unrealistic achievement for Ntseki's side this season, which means they are only left with the Carling Knockout Cup.
Chiefs also face stiff competition in the domestic cup after they were drawn against AmaZulu in the first round of the tournament.
In a recent interview, the South African coach explained how his team can end their trophy drought, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.
"The knowledge we have, before the dark cloud what was there, and if the dark cloud is hanging over your head, how do you get rid or move away from the dark cloud, that is what we are doing presently," he said.
The Glamour Boys are one of the favourite teams to win the Carling Knockout Cup but need to put some things in place to achieve that.
"We all know there wasn’t a dark cloud before, what worked for Chiefs [then], we’re looking into more background, exploring what worked for the club before the dark cloud you speak of," he added.
Ntseki explains why Chiefs needed Gericke
Sports Brief previously reported that Ntseki explained why Kaizer Chiefs needed former Springboks Rugby Psychologist Dr. Henning Gericke in their technical crew this season.
The highly experienced mental coach was appointed in early September and has been earning praise from the Amakhosi players and the head coach.
He has previously worked with the likes of the Sharks provincial rugby team, the Springboks rugby team, the Proteas South African cricket team, and Bafana Bafana during the 2009 Confederations Cup, which the country hosted.
