Liverpool have reportedly made Bayern Munich ace, Leroy Sane their top target to replace Mohamed Salah.
Salah has been the subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks, having attracted strong interest from the Saudi Pro League in the summer.
According to Metro UK, Al-Ittihad are among the top Middle Eastern clubs that have registered interest in landing the services of the Egyptian.
The SPL giants are said to have tabled a previous bid worth an eyewatering £150 million to sign Salah.
However, the Reds reportedly rejected the offer and their ace had no choice but to continue with them into the 2023/24 Premier League season.
Be that as it may, Al-Ittihad are expected to continue pursuing their interest in the star forward ahead of the January transfer window.
Liverpool want Sane to replace Salah
Reports now claim Liverpool have embarked on a plan to find a potential replacement for the Egyptian star.
The Mirror reports that the Merseysiders are concerned Salah could depart at the end of the season, given the strong interest from Saudi Arabia, and have since shortlisted Sane to replace the 31-year-old.
The publication claims the Jurgen Klopp-tutored side are even willing to break their own transfer record to sign the Bayern Munich star.
Sane has been impressive for the German giants since he joined them from Manchester City in 2020 in a deal worth £54.8 million.
