Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly face 99 lashes the next time he travels to Iran as punishment for posing for a picture with a fan.
The veteran Portuguese striker travelled to Iran with Al-Nassr to Iran for an Asian Champions League clash against Iranian side Persepolis.
While in Iran, Ronaldo received a hero's welcome and got to meet some of his fans, including female painter Fatemeh Hamami.
Hamami had painted Ronaldo, and the two got to take a photo together with the paintings. Hamami, who uses a wheelchair, posted the photo on her Instagram page. Ronaldo also gifted her a signed shirt and embraced her.
Mundo Deportivo now reports that lawyers have filed complaints against the football superstar. They consider physical with a married woman amounts to adultery, and Ronaldo should face '99 lashes for that.
Ronaldo is in a relationship with Spanish model Georgina Rodriguez.
It is unclear when Ronaldo will travel to Iran again since Al-Nassr have already played their against Persepolis, a match they won 2-0.
However, Al-Nassr could face an Iranian team in the latter stages of the competition if they progress, and it will be seen if Ronaldo will be punished.

Ronaldo now has 23 goals in the Saudi Pro League and seven assists; that is 30 goal involvements in 23 games, per Transfermarkt.
Before the league season commenced, Ronaldo and Al-Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup, his first trophy with the Middle Eastern club. He scored six goals in the competition to win the Golden Boot.
